Trick or treating is almost here (we’re hoping for the latter), and on this week’s Dress Circle (10/27 7:00 p.m.) we’re taking a look at a dozen songs from stage and screen apropos of the season.
We’ve ended up with quite a few instrumental pieces this year which include “All Hallow’s Eve” and “No Sign of Ghosts” and “March of the Exorcists” from the film versions of “Meet Me in St. Louis” and “Casper” respectively. Orchestral works from the stage include the overture and “Through the Wilderness to the Castle” from “Dance of the Vampires” and the “Halloween interlude” from “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.”
Along with ghosts, ghouls, and vampires, you’ll hear form some witches, “Big Fish,” “Which Witch?”, and “The Muppet Wizard of Oz.”
We may be light on zombies and mummies, but we do have a “Bat Boy” and a demon or two.
Join us for a bit of frighteningly good fun this Sunday evening with some scary and not-so-scary music for Halloween. We’re doing our best to make it an hour of “treats” for all.
