We’re airing equal time on this week’s Dress Circle (8/17 7:00 p.m.) as we look at duets written for two male characters from the musicals.
Once again, we had a great deal of fun rooting through our catalogue of shows to bring you familiar and unfamiliar songs. We think they’re all pretty special even though a few are from unfortunate vehicles.
We’ve planned duets from shows such as “The Secret Garden,” “The Fantasticks,” “Into the Woods,” and “The Book of Mormon” which we’re sure you’ll recognize.
Some of the less-familiar shows include “Shenandoah,” “Dance a Little Closer,” “Road Show,” and “Sugar.”
We’ve even included a duet for one, so to speak, from Adler and Ross’ “Pal Joey” where John Raitt sings a duet with himself which was groundbreaking in 1954.
Tune in this Sunday evening at 7:00 to see what we’ve come up with for an evening of varied duets.
