Gilbert and Sullivan

This week's program features two works with music by Sir Arthur Sullivan. We'll begin with "The Pirates of Penzance" which he wrote with W.S. Gilbert and then turn to "The Rose of Persia" which he wrote with Basil Hood. "The Pirates of Penzance" is the 1981 Broadway revival featuring Kevin Kline, Linda Ronstadt, and Rex Smith.

Highlights from a traditional version of the Pirates of Penzance from the late 1960's on The Lyric Stage this Sunday (1/1) at 8 pm.

Our second program looking at recordings by The Ohio Light Opera will center on their productions of works by Gilbert and Sullivan including "The Mikado," "Patience," and others.
