The Sunday Opera: Puccini's "Il Tabarro" & "Suor Angelica" from "Il Trittico" by Opera Delaware

The first two segments of Giacomo Puccini’s “Il Trittico” from Opera Delaware are featured on this week’s Sunday Opera (11/10 3:00 p.m.).  “Il Tabarro” sees the doomed love affair of Giorgetta (Eleni Calenos) and Luigi (Matthew Vickers) at the hands of Giorgetta’s barge captain husband Michele (Grant Youngblood.)  In “Suor Angelica,” the past of Sister Angelica (Eleni Calenos) returns to haunt her in the guise of her soulless aunt the Principessa (Alissa Anderson) which results in a desperate act and a miraculous redemption.  Anthony Barrese conducts.

Join Michael Kownacky after the operas for an afternoon of romance and a happy ending as he brings you the complete three-act ballet of “Cinderella” by Sergei Prokofiev.

Michael is program host and host of the WWFM Sunday Opera, Sundays at 3 pm, and co-host of The Dress Circle, Sundays at 7 pm.
