The Dress Circle: Songs from the Shows of December

We’re welcoming December on this week’s Dress Circle (12/1 7:00 p.m.) with selections from some of the shows that opened this month, and there are quite a few from which we could choose.  Not only do we have songs from recent shows such as “The Cher Show,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” and “School of Rock,” we’ll also be hearing from “Coco,” “Ballroom,” and “Saratoga.”  We also have a song from Rudolf Friml’s “The Firefly” which means that we’re spanning 106 years between its 1912 opening and the 2018 opening of “The Cher Show”!

We’ll also hear from “Lend Me an Ear,” Carol Channing’s Broadway debut, “Cocoanuts,” a musical that originally starred The Marx Brothers, and the ubiquitous “Oklahoma!” along with a few more.  Join us for an hour of happy songs from the musicals and not a Christmas tune in sight!  (…But we do have Miss Bette Davis.)

Michael is program host and host of the WWFM Sunday Opera, Sundays at 3 pm, and co-host of The Dress Circle, Sundays at 7 pm.
