The Dress Circle: Songs from the Shows of March

March may come in as a lion or a lamb, that’s uncertain, but one thing that is certain that it will come in with a program looking at some of the shows that opened in New York this month on The Dress Circle (3/7 7:00 p.m.).   Once again, we’ll be looking at over 100 years of theatrical history beginning with a lovely waltz from “The Pink Lady,” a 1911 musical by Belgian composer Ivan Caryll who was extremely successful there, in London, and in the United States as well.   From there, we’ll jump to one of Broadway’s “current” hits “Come from Away” which will hopefully reopen when the pandemic comes to an end; that’s 106 years in total.  We’ll also be looking at songs from some well-loved works such as “Oklahoma!”, “My Fair Lady,” “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” and “1776.” The program will touch on the irreverent with songs from “Spamalot” and “The Book of Mormon,” and we’ve also got a few revivals of shows including “Cabaret” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”

Tune in to see who else made the cut this year.
