The Dress Circle: "Thank You" Songs for Thanksgiving

There are so many things that we’re thankful for: our relatively good health (we’re vertical), the music that we love, and having been able to come to you each week on the Dress Circle for the past 38 years, and on this week’s program (11/21 7:00 p.m.), we’re turning to the musicals for songs about the many things the characters found therein are thankful for as we all get ready for Thanksgiving.  Our “thank you” songs come from a wonderful variety of musicals including “Ruggles of Red Gap,” “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” “Flyin’ High,” “The Baker’s Wife,” “Mamma Mia!”, “Do I Hear a Waltz?”, “Scrooge,” “Little Tramp,” and “The Big Broadcast of 1938.”

Some of our vocalists include Bob Hope, Dick Powell, Elizabeth Allen, Sergio Franchi, Bing Crosby, Amy Grant, John Hiatt, Blossom Dearie, Jane Powell, Michael Caine, and Dolores Gray.

It’s been nearly two years of introspection for many of us, and we’ve realized that we do have “Plenty to Be Thankful For” such as our extended musical family who’ve helped keep us on the air for lo these many years.

Join us for another varied hour of wonderful songs and recharge your “thankful” batteries before the frenzied baking and cleaning begins.
