Philadelphia Ballet Looks Ahead to Expanding Dance Center, Opportunities
A Tempo this Saturday (11/26 at 7 pm) features a conversation with Philadelphia Ballet Executive Director Shelly Power about plans to expand its home dance center.
The Philadelphia Ballet earlier this Fall broke ground on its planned expansion project of its North Broad Street home. The project, expected to be completed in the Spring of 2024, will nearly triple the ballet company's current size, providing more space for rehearsals, classes, and performances, and creating new opportunities for community outreach and programs.
The ballet also announced a new fundraising initiative to build funds to sustain and further its programs, including exploring new digital technologies and adding new dancers. A Tempo host Rachel Katz speaks with the ballet's Executive Director, Shelly Power, about this fundraising initiative, the new building and upcoming highlights of its season, including its traditional Nutcracker performances.
