Thanks to John, a listener from Mercer County, we’re looking at a new theme for this week’s Dress Circle (8/10 7:00 p.m.) in a program we’ve titled “Duets for Her.” We’ve programed a baker’s dozen of duets for the ladies with some being sincere and others being sincerely snarky. (We prefer the snarky.)
John suggested songs from “Gypsy,” “Happy Hunting,” “Jumbo,” “West Side Story,” and “Mame,” and to that we’ve added songs from “City of Angels,” “Wicked,” “White Christmas,” “Pal Joey,” “Wildcat,” and “Woman of the Year.”
We’re particularly fond of the song from “Woman of the Year,” “The Grass is Always Greener,” and we truly love a duet cut from Sondheim’s “Anyone Can Whistle” titled “There’s Always a Woman.”
Our list includes enough songs for a second outing, but before then, we’ll be offering equal time to the gentlemen with “Duets for Him” and who knows what else...
Join us for another fun evening this Sunday.
