Break out your dancing shoes because this week’s Dress Circle (9/20 7:00 p.m.) is celebrating National Dance Day.
This “dance” program isn’t featuring actual dances per se; It’s looking at songs from musicals about dance including dance as a metaphor for life and living.
Once again, we’ve had fun programming songs from some familiar and unfamiliar musicals with “The King and I” and “42nd Street’ leading the better-known side and shows like “Ballroom” and “The Witches of Eastwick” on the lesser-known side.
You’ll also hear songs from “Steel Pier,” “No, No, Nanette,” “Grand Hotel,” and “Ben Franklin in Paris,” “The Prom,” and more.
Join us in a merry dance this week through some lovely performances.
