Princeton Ballet School (PBS) is now enrolling for Fall 2025! With locations in Princeton, Cranbury, and New Brunswick, PBS offers children's dance, pre-professional training, and adult classes in ballet, contemporary, flamenco, tap, and more. Classes are available for all ages and levels, including drop-in Open Enrollment options, and features live music in every studio. Everyone is welcome!
PBS also offers its award winning DANCE POWER program in partnership with the New Brunswick Public Schools, Dance for Parkinson's, Audrey's Class for younger dancers with differing abilities, and performance opportunities, such as the option to participate in American Repertory Ballet’s celebrated annual production of The Nutcracker.
Thursday, June 19, 4pm – The Motown Sound – Dr. Rochelle Ellis will trace the origins of Motown and how this distinctive sound affected American pop music, spotlighting some of the major groups on the Motown label in advance of the ticketed evening concert, Masters of Soul. The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), in partnership with “one of the nation’s most intriguing opera companies (The New York Times),” Odyssey Opera, presents the New England premiere of Frederick Douglass at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. This opera, composed in three acts by prominent 20th-century Black composer Ulysses Kay, features a libretto by Donald Dorr and centers on a fictionalized account of the final year of the renowned Black abolitionist and statesman. Conducted by Gil Rose, this concert version showcases the full BMOP orchestra along with several of today’s leading vocalists, including bassist Kenneth Kellogg (Detroit Opera, Seattle Opera) in the lead role of Douglass.
