The Dress Circle: Marches for March
We've combined a bit of silliness with calendar art for this week's program as we scheduled fifteen marches from a variety of sources (Broadway, Hollywood, television) to celebrate the month of March - even though none of the marches really have anything to do with the month.

The Dress Circle: Songs for St. Patrick's Day
This week's program features a variety of songs by and about the Irish beginning in 1906 and running through the 20th and into the 21st century. The "Irish" musicals we'll be featuring are "Juno," "Irene," "Donnybrook," "Finian's Rainbow," and "Eileen."

The Sunday Opera: "Die Herzog von Chicago" and Highlights from "Grafin Mariza" by Emmerich Kalman.
This week's program features a complete recording of Kalman's operetta "The Duchess of Chicago" and highlights of "Countess Maritza" to celebrate the wonderful work of this often forgotten composer.
La Colombe, a one act comic opera, was the next opera Charles Gounod wrote after Faust.
A great sacrifice in the name of love on Sounds Choral this Sunday (4/21 at 8 pm).

The Sunday Opera: Antonin Dvorak's "Vanda"
Most people associate Dvorak with his opera "Rusalka," but he wrote nine other operas, and on this week's program, we'll be listening to the third opera he wrote about the 8th century Polish princess named Vanda who saved Poland from a German invasion.
