Sadly, we won’t be hearing from any Quokkas on this week’s Dress Circle (12/29 7:00 p.m.) even if they are said to be the happiest animals on the planet, but what we will have is a program of “happy” songs to get you prepared for a Happy New Year.
Perhaps they’re not about the New Year, but they do have “happy” and “happiness” in their titles.
We’ve got songs from stage and screen, and once again, some of the shows will be familiar while others not so much.
The familiar side includes “Candide,” “Li’l Abner,” “Mack & Mabel,” and “Rent.” The lesser-known pieces include “In the Red,” “Stepping Out,” “Do Re Mi,” and “Minnie’s Boys.”
We’ll even be looking to large and small screen musicals such as “New York, New York,” “The Little Prince,” and “Ruggles of Red Gap.”
We can definitely promise a “happy” hour on this week’s program, and we certainly hope that you’ll join us.
