We’re offering an hour of “Christmas” songs from the musicals on this week’s Dress Circle (12/24 7:00 p.m.) from a wide variety of shows found on stage and big and small screens.
You may be familiar with songs from the scores of “The Muppets: A Christmas Carol” and “Meet Me in St. Louis,” but we’ve also looked to Hollywood and television from scores like “Say One for Me,” “Mrs. Santa Claus,” and “The Santa Clause.”
Our vocalists include Bing Crosby, Emily Loesser, Don Stephenson, Brian Henson, Angela Lansbury, Charles Durning, Fred Gwynne, Laurence Naismith, Janis Paige and many more.
Back by popular demand (mostly by us) is the delightful radio excerpt featuring Charles Laughton reading “Mr. Pickwick’s Christmas” from Charles Dickens’ “The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club” featuring musical accompaniment conducted by Hans Eisler.
